The Best Dog for You

Choosing a dog can be exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. After all, you're committing to care for a living, breathing being who will depend on you his entire life! When choosing a new dog, so many questions run through your mind: "What kind of dog should I get?" "What's the best dog breed for me?" "Will he be a good fit with my family?"
The first step to being a responsible dog owner begins before you even bring home a dog. Thoughtfully and seriously assess your needs before making a decision, and you'll live long, happy lives together.  Think on it a little while, ask yourself a few questions, and you'll find the right breed of dog for you and your family.

King Charles Cavalier and Shih Tzu

Cavalier: One of the largest of the Toy breeds, Cavaliers follow their people everywhere, just waiting for a chance to jump in a lap. They are also willing and able to go for long walks and hikes, and many enjoy flushing birds, just like their bigger spaniel cousins. This gentle, affectionate breed won over royal hearts as early as the 17th century. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels combine the lovable traits of a companion dog with the lively sporting instincts of their ancestors and are beloved, popular pets today.

Shih Tzu: Once the prized lap dog of Chinese emperors, the Shih Tzu doesn’t see any reason to accept the slightest reduction in status.  Shih Tzus do not guard, hunt, or tunnel into the earth, although they may retrieve balls for you to throw again. They are bred to do one thing, and they do it well: They are companion dogs who give love to the world and soak it back in. They’re an in-your-lap kind of dog. They’ll bark to alert you that someone is at the door; once whoever it is comes inside, there's a good chance your dog will like the person as long as you do, because they are trusting creatures.

Intelligent dogs, Shih Tzu like learning. They are good in obedience classes and can do great at agility and obedience competitions.

American Cocker Spaniel

This is a merry and busy little dog. They will be confident and cheerful, friendly and lively with children and/or adults. They love to play and will hunt equally as well.  Early and thorough socialization is recommended to avoid fearful or anxious behavior, especially around children or gunfire. One of the smallest of the gundog types, the American Cocker is an intelligent dog who will thrive in a family environment, do well as a working dog, or as a therapy companion. They love their people, live to please, and will be endlessly devoted to whom they bond.

Poochon (Bischon Frise and Toy Poodle)

The Poochon is a mixed breed dog–a cross between the Toy Poodle and Bischon Frise dog breeds. Small, happy, and intelligent, these pups inherited some of the best qualities from both of their parents. Researching their parents can offer much insight into their personalities and characteristics.
Poochons are also called Bichpoo, Bichon Poo, and Bichon Poodle . These adorable pups would be a great addition to a big family or single person household. If you want a playful, cuddly, low-shed pup, who will love you unconditionally, the Poochon may be the right dog for you!
